A lot has happened!!
So much in fact I have not had the time to write a post until now. So, get ready for a somewhat lengthy post!!
Since August 10th I have been a Set Production Assistant. That’s right! On set all day, everyday!! Woohoo!!
Look I’m so official with a walkie!
My first day on set began in the morning at a church and boy did it get hot. You probably don’t realize this because you are so used to them, but air conditioners make a lot of noise. So, when the mic’s you use for filming are really sensitive, off go the air conditioners. Did I mention we are filming in Austin in the middle of the summer?? Therefore, as you can guess it got really hot and we were continually working to cool the place down between camera position changes.
But, I was hooked. I loved being on set and running around, getting to interact with the actors, and hanging out with the crew. This is definitely the industry I want to be in!!!!
It was also the catalyst for my being on set for the rest of my internship. Now, that I am done with the internship, it crazy to think back through everything that happened. As I think back about everything that I learned and everyone I met; I realize that there is just too much to write in a blog post. The experience is just to fantastic and fun for it to be confined to a blog post.
From sprinklers going off, random rains, and fog machines; to pizza runs, barista-ing, and locking down streets with the police “Believe Me” was an amazing and exciting experience. So, here are some pics and video links for you to check out.
This church was the first set I worked on for “Believe Me.”
Moved locations to a University and we were about to start rolling when the sprinklers went off, and so did the schools bells.
I loved our shoot at the Long Center!! It was a beautiful location even if we had a very random rain shower while there.
Shooting at Bob’s Steak House was so much fun! Ending the night with a Dance Party scene was epic!!

That night was also Christopher McDonald’s last night on the film. It was such and honor to meet him!!!
Check out Riot Studios interview with him!! So funny!!
I love this photo!!
It is from my last night on set and it shows how amazing our Art, Lighting (Grips), and Electric Departments were!! Every set looked awesome every time. I tip my hat to their talent and abilities.

My last day was also the day the LaCrae was on set!! It was so cool to meet him.
I think one of the things I am going to miss the most is, seeing and talking with the actors. Not because they are famous, but because they are just awesome people!! It was truly an honor to have been able to meet them and spend some time with them. It is going to be fun to watch them as their careers move forward. Especially since, I get to be one of those people who says I knew them when…
The handsome Aussie, Alex Russell!! So talented!!
The rest of the God Squad!! The wonderful Sinqua Walls, the fabulous Max Adler, and the dashing Miles Fisher!!!
And last but not least!! The outstanding Zachary Knighton!!
I am so glad that I made the decision to spend the month in Austin!! It was an experience of a life time, that has given me contacts and new friends. I am honored to have been part of such an amazing group of people.
I am so proud of the Riot Studio Guys and everything that they have accomplished!! I can not wait for the movie to be out for the public to see!!
Congrats on your first Feature Film Will, Michael and Alex!!
I can’t wait to see what you guys do next!!!
