Highly Anticipated Detour

If you have been following this blog, you know that two weeks ago I started working as an intern on the film “Believe Me” by Riot Studios. If you haven’t been following the blog, you should check out the Riot Studios website, the “Believe MeFacebook page and Twitter, as well as these articles by: PRWeb, The Hollywood Reporter and Rapzilla. The movie is fantastically written and has an amazing cast including; Alex Russell, Max Adler, Sinqua Walls, Johanna Brady, Christopher McDonald, Miles Fisher and Lecrae (just to name a few). Seriously, go check it out!!

However, something few know, unless they are my good friends, is that I a huge fan of the Jonas Brothers. That’s right, I said it. I am a JoBro fan and I am not ashamed. The music is great and they are a band that just get’s better with age. So, go ahead and judge if you must, but I stand by the Bros.

That being said, I have had a much-anticipated trip to Houston planned for 3 Months. A trip just to see the Jonas Brothers live in concert. It was something that I knew I was doing before, I ever heard anything about “Believe Me” going into production. So, after deciding to go to Austin to intern on “Believe Me,” I thought I was going to have to give up seeing the Jonas Brothers. Which was not a fun thought. I had been waiting for this for years, the chance to see them in concert, and then they started touring again to promote their new album/remind everyone they were still around (as if the fans could forget). Either way, it was good news for me and my friends and we jumped to buy tickets go to our first Jonas Brothers Concert.

But, I was now in Austin and production on “Believe Me” had started and I would be leaving during the first few days of shooting for a day and a half (which is a lot in a shooting schedule that is only a month-long). I wasn’t sure if I should even ask for the time off, but finally I realized I had this concert in my plans before “Believe Me” became part of my path. So, a short detour to go to a Jonas Brothers Concert wasn’t going to hurt anything. Therefore, I asked if I could have some time off to go see the Jonas Brothers concert and was given the green light (so thankful!!!).

After working all day Tuesday running errands and hanging out on set, I was picked up by my friends and we headed to Houston. My friend and I, who sat in the backseat, put the 2 and a half hours we were captive to good use by watching “Inception”. Soon enough, we were where we would be staying and we bunked down for the night. Then, it was morning and the day of the Jonas Brothers concert.

Before we knew it, we were ready and in the car headed to the Woodlands Pavilion.

However, we forgot about rush-hour. So, what should have been a 45 minute drive was an hour and a half. But, the real kicker was the concert was scheduled to begin and 7 pm and we left at 5:30 pm. You can imagine the tense frustration radiating out of our car as we inched down the highway as the time on the clock got closer and closer to 7. But, we made it and with plenty of time to spare because the opening act didn’t go on until 7:30.

We are so excited to finally be at the Concert!

The opening group was Karmin and they were very good and lots of fun to watch. But, we were there for the Jonas Brothers and we were ready for them to come out on stage. However, we would be waiting for another hour once Karmin finished performing.

Oh, but the wait was well worth it!! Nick walked out on stage at 9:30 and Joe and Kevin walked through the crowd to the stage. The epic part was the fact the Joe walk about 5 feet in front of us!! The crowd was going crazy and us with them. It was one of those moments where I couldn’t help but be excited, and laugh at myself and the entire situation at the same time. It is a weird place to be in when you know how ridiculous you are being and still not being able to help yourself. But, soon the excitement wins over and you just let yourself enjoy the moment. Boy, did we enjoy it!!

This tour is for the fans, as a thank you for staying loyal and waiting on them to come back from their solo projects. So, the concert sets are full of fan favorites as well as a sprinkling of their new songs. It’s a perfect mix. It gives you everything you want and leaves you excited for the new album. Well done Jonas Brothers, well done!!!!

My First Time at a Jonas Brothers Concert is now locked away in the memory banks and forever documented with video, photos, and now this post. It is an experience I am so glad I decided to partake in!! Even now after writing this I am still trying to process the fact that I was finally able to go to a Jonas Brothers concert!! Honestly, there are not enough words or ways to convey how much I enjoyed the concert. So, I would say my highly anticipated detour was successful!!

Now, I am back in Austin and ready to get back to work on “Believe Me!”

Good bye Rock Stars, hello again Movie Stars.
